The Toyota GT86 is a sporty model with coupe bodywork, rear drive and a 200 hp boxer engine. It is not one of the fastest cars on the circuit, but the level of feeling it offers for its price makes it one of the most affordable sports cars on the market, perhaps the most accessible of all. Recalling that the Toyota GT86 was released on the market in 2012, and recently had its aesthetic renewal, which did not show drastic visual changes. Practically identical to the Subaru BRZ, the Toyota GT86 has become one of the favorite sports for younger customers. This special edition released for the Japanese market is called Toyota GT86 Solar Orange Limited Edition. It incorporates a series of aesthetic and functional modifications that increase the sportiness of the coupe. The body receives a bright orange, new shapes on the bumper, three horizontal blades on the part of each front fog lamp, as well as the black mirror housings and a new rear aerofoil as chevrolet camaro. The interior has new upholstery and specific benches. In mechanical terms there are no improvements in its engine, but adds Brembo-signed brakes with red calipers, Sachs suspension and specific 17-inch and darkened wheels. This set enhances sportsmanship and driving sensations, making the vehicle better suited for ‘fun’ rhythms on a circuit or climbing a mountain. Its launch is scheduled for March 10, although orders are already being accepted. Toyota offers the GT86 Solar Orange with manual and automatic transmission, with prices equivalent to 95,500 reais for the first and 97,400 euros for the second. Recalling that its marketing will be exclusive in Japan.


Carlex Design, a traditional Polish trainer, always presents spectacular work done usually from the basis of sporting models. However, his latest work out of the rut: this is Toyota Hilux. A vehicle that thanks to the changes introduced, reveals a much more aggressive, flashy image and has a more luxurious and refined interior. Developed from the Toyota Hilux, this model was renamed Toyota Hilly, and is the first model of the new sub-brand that Carlex Design has just presented: the Pickup Design. As you can see, it will specialize in the preparation of this class of vehicles and for the time being revealed only this Toyota Hilux, but a Nissan Navara, a Volkswagen Amarok and a Renault Alaskan are being prepared with the signature of the new division. The Toyota Hilux from Pickup Design debuts a brand new front, with a bumper, grille, hood and different protectors on the lower parts that are a bit more aggressive, also having a strip of LED projectors located well above the license plate. In addition, metal shields were installed to protect this vulnerable part of the body, the wheel arches were enlarged with larger fenders and the wheels and tires were replaced with larger ones.   The rear bumper is also new, as is the airfoil that now integrates the lid that gives access to the cargo part. In this last point also another novelty arises: a robust tubular structure that imitates the appearance of a santantonios. Regarding the passenger compartment, the Toyota Hilly is practically full upholstered with high quality black and red leathers and features a sportier aesthetic steering wheel. Finally, remembering that the current Toyota Hilux represents the eighth generation of a vehicle that began to be marketed in 1968, and since then, the brand has managed to market more than 18 million units worldwide.


Everyone should have ever questioned how the cars that circulate the streets of big cities in a few decades will be. Toyota gives its answer to this doubt at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 and does so with a prototype called Toyota i-TRIL, which reveals its vision of urban mobility in the year 2030. A model that represents a viable alternative to vehicles of segments A and B, and is also equipped with Active Lean technology. In its design and development Toyota followed the philosophy ‘Waku Doki’, a Japanese term that can be translated as ‘heart cry’ and with which the Japanese manufacturer intends to demonstrate that electric vehicles of the future can transmit many sensations and emotions to the drivers and passengers. It was developed by Toyota Motor Europe (TME) in collaboration with Toyota’s Design Studio ED2 in Nice (France) and took as reference a particular type of customer. The Toyota i-TRIL is focused on a sophisticated, modern, active woman aged 30-50 who has two children and lives in a small or medium-sized city. According to a study carried out by Toyota, small, agile, electric vehicles adapted to the urban area will be the norm in cities in a short time. It will be the vehicle that will best adapt to the continued growth of large cities. One of the great pillars on which Toyota’s i-TRIL concept is based is Active Lean technology and the unique 1 + 2 configuration of its interior. The Toyota i-TRIL is powered by an electric motor and weighs only 600 pounds. In relation to its measurements, it measures 2,830 mm in length and 1,460 mm in height. In addition, it has a gauge width of 1,200 mm in the front and 600 mm in the rear. It also stands out for having a turning radius of only 4 meters, very similar to the Toyota iQ.

Aesthetically, the new prototype designed by Toyota draws attention to its surface coating with a seamless transition between the colors of the body, which shares with the front wheel arches and the transparent windows of the cabin. The doors feature a ‘butterfly wing’ opening and are attached to the inclined A-pillars to maximize the opening area, so that the access and exit of the passenger compartment is quite comfortable. Its interior has a passenger compartment with capacity for three passengers in layout 1 + 2 and thanks to the design and placement of the components, the available space has been optimized. Despite this configuration of the interior, the Toyota i-TRIL can circulate autonomously, although the driver can select manual driving if he so wishes. Steering, acceleration and brakes are controlled by drive-by-wire technology. The Toyota i-TRIL driving controls are very similar to the controls in a video game. If we take a look at the images inside this prototype, we can see that it does not have a board of instruments, controls and commands. In manual driving mode a simple display projects the information into the windshield. During the rest of the time everything revolves around voice activation technology and communication is done with Toyota i-TRIL’s artificial intelligence system to utilize multimedia and infotainment systems. The upholstery in Alcantara and the materials used in the finishes are also worth highlighting.


The ‘kei car’ category wins a new member: the Toyota Pixis Joy. In fact, we are talking about a new family that includes three models, and as usual with these types of vehicles, will be marketed exclusively in Japan. With a length of 3,400 mm, Toyotas Pixis Joy will be small urban that will benefit tax and parking specials. Starting with the Toyota Pixis Joy F, we are faced with the most elegant version, with specific design bumpers, chrome exterior details – present on door knobs, front grille and side skirts – and a specific tapestry inside. Next comes the Toyota Pixis Joy C, here customization adopts crossover traits, very apparent in the sturdier bumpers, with protection at its bottom and a plastic rim wrapping its antinebline headlights. The black plastic extends to the wheel arches and the underside of its sides. To complete, equip a suspension that raises its height by an additional 25 mm. Finally, the Toyota Pixis Joy S is the most sporty of the three in its design, with specific bumpers and alloy wheels, rear-view mirrors and C-pillars in red, sports suspension and an interior that stands out for its synthetic leather upholstery , and again the details in red. All of them will be available with a turbo engine of 660 cm³, in two levels of power: 55 hp and 64 hp, the latter with intercooler. A CVT-type automatic transmission will be the only option available for all three models.  The Pixis Joy were designed and manufactured by Daihatsu, which belongs to the Toyota group and is a specialist in this type of vehicles. Their small size makes them specific models for Japan, where ‘kei cars’ are very successful, making them almost unlikely to be marketed beyond their borders.


Toyota unveiled the second-generation Prius Plug-in. The new hybrid model, which was presented today at the New York Salon, is named Prime. The version has a few different aesthetic elements compared to the conventional hybrid, specifically the front with four LED lights, inspired by the Mirai, as well as rear LEDs interconnected with a new shape. The new model is 165 mm longer than the current model, 15 mm wider and 20 mm lower, having an aerodynamic coefficient of 0.24. Highlight for the new active grille and for the rounded rear window. The new Prius Prime uses 8.8 kWh lithium-ion batteries, larger than the previous ones, allowing an electric mode range of up to 50 km (about double the previous), with a speed limit of 135 km / H. Batteries charge in 5h30 in a standard outlet or in less than half an hour in a 240V outlet. Another novelty in the Prime are the solar panels placed on the ceiling that help to charge the battery. There is also a gas injection heat pump system that comes into action when the electric mode is switched on. In this version, the interior has been reconfigured, getting a more premium look and featuring a 4.2-inch screen. There is also a wireless charging system for the smartphone.


Toyota reinforces the line of its Hybrid SUV in Spain with the introduction of an interesting special edition that besides being distinguished by its exterior design, it has an ample standard equipment. The new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Feel! Edition is already on sale at the Spanish dealers of the brand. During a given period, this new finish will coexist with the others already available: Business, Advance, Feel! and Executive. The new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Feel! Edition part of the base of the Feel level finish! being offered in both front-wheel drive (2WD) and full-power (4WD) configuration. Aesthetically presents a different image, since it has the Full Color package, with two-tone 18-inch wheels, bumper, side frames and wheel arches in the same tone of the body and the lower shield in silver or black, according to the selected color. The exterior is offered in one of two colors: ‘Blue Midnight’ and ‘Silver Moon’. To this must be added the longitudinal roof bars. For the interior it is possible to choose between two shades for leather upholstery: beige and black. But one of the main advantages of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Feel! Edition is your complete standard equipment. Among the items available in this special edition of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid are elements such as darkened rear windows, LED headlights, Toyota Safety Sense, automatic tailgate with electric opening and closing, smart start and access system, rear view camera, bi-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, unintentional track change alert, and traffic signal recognition. It should be noted that, with the exception of the JBL audio system and the driver’s seat with electrical adjustments and heating, it has all the equipment offered in the Feel!
